日本汽车产业中唯一不赚钱的汽车生产商—三菱汽车公司,近日宣称将会加强与印度汽车公司的合作,从而增加销售利润和降低生产成本。 Mitsubishi Motors Corp., Japan's only unprofitable automaker, said it will expand its alliance with Hindustan Motors as it tries to boost sales and reduce costs.
Mitsubishi motors may buy parts from Hindustan Motors, the Tokyo-based company said in a faxed release today. Hindustan Motors, which now sells Mitsubishi Motors' lancer Sedans and Pajero sport-utility vehicles, will build a new model in India starting in January 2006, the Japanese automaker said.
Mitsubishi Motors, which has received two bailouts from shareholders in the past 12 months, is trying to boost global unit sales of its vehicles by 4.3 percent to 1.37 million units in the year ending March 31.
Kolkata-based Hindustan Motors, which has made the Ambassador car in India for over 50 years, will also import more Mitsubishi Motors models such as the Grandis Minivan.
Hindustan Motors also makes engines for General Motors Corp and Ford Motor.
